Since we had a hurricane this year, we did not have Halloween. I'm sharing pics of the Halloween cupcakes I made last year instead. I used edible decorations as well as Halloween themed plastic rings which you can get anywhere - Walmart, Target - they make fun decorations and kids can wear the rings if they want to! I used everything from crushed up oreos for topping the chocolate ones, Reese's pieces garnish chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting, orange flavored batter with orange flavored icing, green tinted icing and lots of different jimmies and sprinkles!
We share our love of the seashore and beaches, interviews with favorite authors and artists, promote causes and people who inspire us, share reviews of products, host contests and giveaways. Welcome to our little corner of the world.

Ice Cream Cone Cutout Cookies
Some pics of my ice cream cone cutout cookies, made for a friend. I didn't do piping on these and just iced them and tried to give the appearance of ice cream dripping or melting over the cone. The crosshatches impressions on the ice cream cones portion of the cookie were made using a spatula and gently pressing it into the cookie immediately after baking, while the cookie was still warm and soft.

Big Fish Games - My Personal Favorites - Dire Grove
I thought I'd share a few of my personal favorite games from Big Fish Games, in separate posts, in anticipation of our monthly Big Fish Games trivia contest game credit giveaway starting around the middle of June. Please see details in my previous post.
I've posted a link to the game on their site so you can read the descriptions, read reviews, demo the games, and included a few pics from the game. Enjoy!
This one is my personal favorite. It has live actors and cutscenes, stunning winter graphics, and a chilling story. Part adventure, part hidden object...just wonderful. Not to be missed! Be prepared to be scared.

Food!
I love to cook and bake and am a big fan of the Food Network, so I thought I'd post some pics of some of the foods I've made. I do take pics of my own dishes when I think of it, so here are some of them.
The first one is Giada's delicious roasted citrus herb game hens and has become a favorite recipe of mine. Cranberries are featured in this dish, and the sauce is to die for. I garnished with a few fresh mint leaves. It is soooo good! And it freezes well for quick re-heat in the oven, and I reserve some sauce in separate containers as well. If it's just for me, I just make some rice to have with it.
This recipe can be found on the Food Network, and below is the link: Enjoy!
Giada's Roasted Citrus Herb Game Hen
My own ziti with chunky tomato, freshly grated parmesan cheese and sausage:
Pastrami and melted cheese with dijon mustard or deli mustard on a sesame seed bun and sliced native tomatoes with black pepper on the side:
Loads of fresh veggies like zucchini, squash, tomatoes, with Italian trombette pasta:
The same, but covered with bechemal (white sauce) and lots of grated parmesan cheese and black pepper:
My chicken ceasar wraps with fresh greens and bread crumbs made from both white and whole grain breads. Just add the caesar dressing - and I prefer to just dip as I eat rather than smothering the wrap in dressing. Makes it easier to take to work that way too:
